When looking for a job you where you can work at home online, you may come across advertising for at home agents. So, what is this exactly? Well, in a nut shell it’s a call center type position.
As a call center representative or at home agent you may serve customers (of clients of the company you are working for) by taking telephone and e-mail orders. You would need to do this accurately and politely. You may also answer questions about services or products.
What do you need to be call center or at home agent?
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook is sometimes requested.
- High speed Internet connection, personal computer and fax required as you will be working online
- You’ll need a quiet place to work as you’ll likely be on the phone.
What are the good things about this type of work?
- There are usually different shifts that have flexible hours.
- You can be self employed and be your own boss.
- Work in the comfort of your own home!
- Set your own hours and they may vary by project.
- Flexibility to change your hours daily.
- No driving to work.
What might not be so good about this?
- The hours might not be full time if that’s what you are looking for.
- You need a quiet place in your home.
- You might not have the stamina to work on the phone.
